Road trip!

We made the most of the long weekend and road-tripped it to Washington, D.C.

Here's Little Miss C enjoying her in-flight movie -- The Lion King -- to prep for her trip to the zoo. This was her first-ever movie (let alone movie in the car) ... hence the excitement.
First order of business when we got into town? A playdate and lunch with cousins Daniella and Jacob (and their mommy, Deb).

A great, yet exhausting, time was had by all. Caitlyn caught some zzz's on the Metro that afternoon.

Then it was off to the National Zoo, where Caitlyn saw lots of animals (including a lion). See the dropped jaw as evidence of her amazement. This was paired with excited squeals and kicking.

We even made a night of it and stayed in a hotel. All went well, but lesson learned: Next time Gene and Karen will spring for a suite so they don't end up playing Scrabble on the bathroom floor once the peanut is asleep....
