This morning Caitlyn looked lovingly at Gene and, completely unprompted and unsolicited, said, "I love you, Daddy."
Gene's heart melted on the spot. He quickly offered (thankfully just so Karen could hear) that he would give her anything she wanted, even ice cream for breakfast.
