Celebrating a birth"day" -- Gene style

Gene loves to celebrate holidays, birthdays included. And not surprisingly, he even brainwashed our children. On April 30 when I told Caitlyn that the next day was May, she cheered, "That's Daddy's birthday!" And Nathan apparently informed his class when Gene's birthday was approaching because the kids wished him happy birthday one afternoon at pick-up.

While he no longer takes the whole month to celebrate his May 17 birthday (he shares May with me for Mother's Day), we did make this past weekend all about him. We ate his favorite foods (burgers, ice cream pie and hibachi chicken), and we took in Shrek the Musical, and we gave him a morning to yard sale shop, and Caitlyn even played video games with him.
