By leaps and bounds

Our kiddos are growing like weeds – big, beautiful weeds. Caitlyn had her 7-year-old check-up, where she weighed in at 50 1/2 lb. (48 percentile) and measured 50 3/4 inches (87 percentile). And, always our string bean, her BMI was just 10 percent!

These days she’s into building traps for Lucky the Leprechaun and making Cheerio necklaces for Nathan (and, inevitably, Vixey), taking karate lessons and being a Daisy Scout. And she’s as artistic and assertive (especially when it involves showing Nathan what to do) as ever.

Not to be outdone, Nathan had a “growth spurg” of his own and is outgrowing his pants (c’mon shorts weather!). He’s in between T-ball seasons, but he’s busy, busy, busy – always moving. He's passionate about gaming (particularly Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Wii) but also loves to play outside and practice hockey/soccer/baseball/golf (sometimes all at once, as a hybrid sport). And more times than not, he’s happy to play whatever game Caitlyn made up and listen to the kindergarten-prep lessons she comes up with for him.
