The fall fun continues

After the nearly 10 inches of rain ("for real," as Caitlyn would say) that fell Thursday through Friday, the weather cleared for another beautiful autumn weekend. And, thanks to Columbus Day, we scored an extra "stay-home day."

On Sunday, we broke out the Halloween costumes for the church's fall festival. Pirate Nathan and Witch Caitlyn (she nixed the Tinkerbell idea when she realized how cool it sounds to cackle like a witch, so she's rewearing last year's getup) paraded in their costumes, competed in candy scrambles (Nathan thought it was a race and just sprinted through the candy; Caitlyn scored so much loot that her bag broke by the time we got home), played Halloween Bingo, and took a hayride with Pop and Mommy.

Then we spent Monday walking along (and across) the river, collecting acorns and dropping them through the walking bridge and into the water. On our walk, we even made a stop at an Irish restaurant in the city, where the kids scored Lucky Charms for lunch.
