Winter 2015

Long time, no post. A few highlights from busy months gone by....

The 2014 Christmas season was the most fun yet. The kids were so excited about all of the preparations and celebrations. Caitlyn's favorite present was a Pegasus (a toy one, although she requested "a real Pegasus unicorn to live in the spare bedroom"), and Nathan loved the Hot Wheels race track Santa left.

Then we moved onto a New Year's Eve celebration with our Musselman buddies, complete with make-your-own pizzas and games and "kids' wine" (sparking grape juice) toasts.

Next up was Caitlyn's birthday celebration. (How is our baby six years old?!) She enjoyed an early birthday present of getting her ears pierced (she was incredibly brave, while Gene and I were really torn up about the big-girl milestone).
Then she celebrated with her friends over pizza, fruit kabobs and cake at the Giant Cooking School and finally with her extended family (to include cousins Cassidy, Jacob and Daniella) over dinner and chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes (made by Nathan!). Whew!

Caitlyn's six-year-old stats ... which make her (see here at gymnastics class) sound much more square-shaped than she actually is:
  • Height - 47 3/4" (86 percentile)
  • Weight - 46 1/2 lb. (57 percentile)

Since the birthday celebrations wrapped up, we've been busy making the most of the cold wintertime: Uncle Doug took Caitlyn for a ski lesson, we all went rollerskating a few times, and we spent time sledding and making snow people (and animals) and even playing T-ball in the snow.

Also of note:
  • Peanut Girl is now up to five lost baby teeth -- three of which fell out within 10 days!
  • Nathan has two adorable Nathan-isms: He says "a long day ago" to describe the past and "messed it over" instead of "messed it up."
