Summer soaring away …

What an August! We went tent camping with friends, made a few HersheyPark runs, spent a week at the beach, and started school.

Here we are on the Music Express – apparently one of the many rides that doesn’t give you motion sickness until you’re in your 30s. Other faves include the Trailblazer, Super Dooper Looper and Comet (Nathan) and the Wild Mouse, Pirate Ship and Coal Cracker (Caitlyn).

We spent a sunny week in Avalon, N.J. jumping waves (with a few signature “butt shots” mixed in), digging in the sand, perfecting underwater quadruple flips in the pool (Nathan), synchronized swimming (Caitlyn and Cassidy), mini-golfing and searching for seashells (Grandma and Nathan scored a perfect sand  dollar!).

Then when we got home, Nathan started kindergarten at St. Theresa School on Monday, and Caitlyn began 2nd grade at Fishing Creek two days later. Four days into the school year, Nathan’s favorite part is learning Spanish. And when I asked Caitlyn if she had a good day yesterday, she said “No … it was an awesome day!”
